COVEY ROCK Groups

ROCK Groups logo
We run small befriending groups across South Lanarkshire for young people aged 8-17 who are socially isolated and in need of support.

COVEY has plans to provide these services in North Lanarkshire in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council Social Work.

ROCK groups provide young people with weekly opportunities to take part in fun activities with others the same age. Facilitated by COVEY staff and volunteers, young people can build relationships, form friendships and develop their social skills and confidence.

Volunteers help at the groups by facilitating activities and by providing transport to and from the groups.

If you would like to volunteer at our group befriending projects and add colour to lives you can find more about what's involved on our volunteering roles page.

Referral Criteria

Referrals for group befriending can come from Social Work, education or health, for a young person, aged 8-17, living within South Lanarkshire. They can be experiencing difficulties in their lives such as social isolation, behavioural issues, bullying, drug & alcohol misuse, abuse, disengagement from school, mental health issues, and bereavement.

The first step is to phone our office to discuss the young person's needs and how we can best help.

Our telephone number is 01698 894013, or see our contact page for other details of how to get in touch.

"The group helps Ellie with her confidence, she looks forward to it and most of the activities she really enjoys and is enthusiastic about, we have seen a big difference in her confidence."
