Come on a Walk with our Parent and Carer Peer Support Group!
COVEY’s Parent and Carer Peer Support Group refused to let the rain get in the way of their walk at Strathclyde Park.
Meeting every 2 weeks, this group gives our Parent and Carers the chance to come together, get some fresh air and support each other. This simple opportunity to walk and talk can have a truly positive impact on wellbeing.
“It’s easy to feel like you’re the only one going through things, but you come on these walks and just talk to people…you realise you’re not the only one.” (Carer)
And when they’re not busy taking in the sights of Strathclyde Park, this friendly, welcoming and supportive group can be found enjoying a variety of activities together; from bingo games and coffee mornings, to creating their own pottery and even taking a recent trip to Luss beach! There is never a dull moment.
With the sound of laughter and buzz of conversation, it’s clear that being part of this group brings a lot of happiness to those who come along:
“I love getting my text every couple of weeks to tell us what we’re going to be doing. I would just never do these things on my own. I love it.” (Carer)
