COVEY news
What's been happening at COVEY's groups?
COVEY's Young Adults ANGELS group were busy getting creative, painting their own pots and planting some lovely flowers! This group is for our young people who have additional support needs. It gives them opportunities to make friends, build confidence and take part in social activities they may not otherwise have access to.
As part of COVEY's Flourishing Families Project, pupils from Glenlee Primary School recently enjoyed a trip to Flip Out! This project is supported by STV Appeal and helps our young people who are transitioning from primary school to secondary school. It gives them opportunities to improve their wellbeing and self esteem, develop skills and interests and build on friendships.
Our Airdrie Pals group recently visited the Fire Station, where they met the firefighters and even got a chance to try out some of the equipment! These fun sessions are part of our ANGELS group (Additional Needs Gaining Experience in Life Skills) and help remove barriers to opportunities for young people who needs extra support to access them.
COVEY's Parent and Carer Support Group went along to the Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life, where they truly embraced all the fun activities on offer! The group is part of COVEY's Family Support Project, which helps our Parents and Carers improve their wellbeing and reduce social isolation.
