What's been happening at COVEY's groups?
COVEY’s Kinship Care Group Summer Outings
From archery and canoeing to dodgems and rollercoasters, our Kinship Care groups enjoyed trips to Wiston Lodge, Flip Out and M&Ds Theme Park. These trips have given our young people great opportunities to build their friendships and confidence while developing their skills and interests.
Thursday’s Kinship group also enjoyed their trip to Roundknowe Farm, where they learned how to communicate with their horses, developing techniques to get their horses to respond while riding. They also enjoyed learning how to care for their horses by grooming them correctly.
It was amazing to see our young people make so much progress during this session!
“I was scared at first, but then got more confident with the help from the instructor…this has been the best activity yet!”
East Kilbride ANGELS Indoor Camping
Our East Kilbride ANGELS group recently enjoyed some indoor camping! They developed their communication, team work and practical skills while building their tents before enjoying some well deserved hot chocolate, marshmallows and ice cream!
These weekly sessions help our young people with additional support needs to build confidence, friendships, resilience and life skills while having fun.
Our Parents and Carers Visit Luss Beach!
After such a successful trip last year, our Parents and Carers visited the beautiful Luss beach again this year. A bit of paddling in Loch Lomond and relaxing on the sand made all the difference to our Parents’ and Carers’ wellbeing.
