The Promise Scotland's Stories of Change Conference
On Monday the 5th of February, COVEY attended the Stories of Change conference in Edinburgh. This great opportunity brought people from all over Scotland together to discuss the ways we are working to ‘keep the promise’ to ensure children and young people grow up loved, safe and respected.
This initiative was launched by The Promise Scotland, a strong advocate for care-experienced children and young people, seeking to put their voices at the heart of positive change.
COVEY are working alongside South Lanarkshire Council and the University of the West of Scotland to develop a youth empowerment group called the ASK group. This stands for Additional Skills and Knowledge and sees young leaders develop their own programme of activities based on their needs and interests. With COVEY’s support, these young people can recognise the true value in their voice and their potential to action positive change.
