intandem

intandem logo
Funded by the Scottish Government though Inspiring Scotland, intandem aims to support young people aged 8-14 years who are looked after at home. This is when the young person is under a supervision order but remains in the family home.

The disruption children face when they are involved in the care system can be challenging and potentially damaging. intandem has been set up to help young people overcome these challenges.

Young people are matched with a trained volunteer and spend 2 hours together once a week, doing fun things in their community. Mentors will support them to build a trusting, supportive and secure relationship. In this way young people are able to benefit from having an adult role model.

intandem mentors provide one-to-one support for a few hours each week for about one year. They build rewarding relationships with the young person and you can find out more about becoming a volunteer mentor on our volunteering roles page.

Referral Criteria

Referrals for intandem should come from social services for young people aged 8-14, who are under a supervision order and remaining in the family home.

If you know someone who may benefit from intandem the first step is to phone our office to discuss the young person's needs and how we can best help.

Our telephone number is 01698 894013, or see our contact page for other details of how to get in touch.
